We've all heard the one about what to call the doctor who finishes last in his or her medical school class: Doctor.

But what about this one? "Frank is recovering from day surgery when a nurse asks him how he is feeling. 'I'm fine, but I didn't like the four-letter-word the doctor used in surgery,' he answered. 'What did he say?' asked the nurse. 'Oops!'"

That joke was found on Facebook by the authors of a . , of Dartmouth -- that's the Geisel School of Medicine, a.k.a. the -- and colleagues scanned thousands of users on the social media site, and found 156 unique jokes.

Those who told jokes about doctors "were more likely to be divorced, separated, or widowed," according to the study. And two in five of the jokes were at the expense of doctors, like this one: "A woman told her doctor, 'I've got a bad back.' The doctor said, 'It's just old age.' The woman said, 'I want a second opinion.' 'OK,' the doctor said. 'You're ugly too.'"
